InConvenience is
a twelve-minute short film that was filmed on 35mm film and will
have worldwide/immense exposure. The film takes place solely
in a convenience store and is a story about a lonely convenience
store owner, Henry, who has found a winning lottery ticket. He
soon becomes convinced that people are after his ‘fortune’ and locks himself
in the store to hide from the world outside. His inner voice
takes over his mind and he becomes extremely paranoid. Just when
he can sink no lower, the outside world finally forces Henry
to make a decision.
InConvenience finished filming
the end of January 2005 and is currently in post production.
This film Features Chang Tseng a famous talented Chinese actor,
and is being produced by Freshly brewed productions, Co-produced
by Erika Tse, Anita and Ronald Ng. Directed
by John Penhall, an established film professional in Vancouver.
John previously made the short film, “The
Bed” (2002), which has been invited to over 20 festivals,
including, Vancouver, Montréal, Palm Spring, Cleveland,
Newport, Beach, Victoria, the Pacific North West in Portland, Melbourne,
Feruigera da Foz in Lisbon and Oxford, where it won best Short.The
Bed was also nominated for six Leo awards, including Best
Short, Best Direction, Best Screenwriting, Best actress, Best Cinematography
and Best Production Design.
